Can the US president only serve 2 terms in office??
If so does the vice president become the next candidate.

The US president can only serve two terms. While this happened with Clinton, and VP Gore became the next candidate, it doesn't necessarily have to be the VP, though it would be a logical choice.

Why only two terms?? I mean George W is only mid 40`s he could easily do another term.
Is there a chance the other Bush (Jeb) could run??

So far the only thing I didn't like that Jeb has done was involving himself in the Terri Schiavo case and ordering her back on life support. It's an ugly battle that is still going on and she lies like a vegetable in a hospital just up the street from me. Her husband wants life support removed concurrent with her wishes and her parents continue to fight to keep her on it. Sad.

Doubly sad that there is money involved which taints the issue.

I predict (barring another 9/11 style attack on US soil) that Homeland Security Secretary Ridge will be the GOP candidate in 2008 and the Dems will run Hillary with Obama.

I'll agree on Hillary and Obama, but not Tom Ridge. Rudy maybe, but not Tom Ridge.

OMG G L, you have just described a "worst case scenario"! Both of those nominees are even worse than those presented by the parties THIS year! There would be partisanship unlike any we have ever seen.

Ridge/XXXX threatens my personal freedoms. HClinton/Obama threatens my wallet.

Hmmmmmm......personal freedom on one side of the scales, $$ on the other. No question. Gotta come down on the side of protecting personal freedoms, but I would DEFINITELY be holding my nose big time if I had to vote for Hillary. I might just implode.

On second thought, no way would the Dems have Hillary/Obama as a ticket. A woman/black man ticket for President/VP will be unelectable for at least twenty years in this country. There would be those that would oppose their politics, plus those that would oppose them based solely on gender/race issues. So, much as the Dems would like to do this, they learned their lesson when Geraldine Ferraro cried. It's not going to happen the way you say.

That's MY prediction. If I'm right, I get a ride in (whatever you're driving at the time) to dinner at a local restaurant whenever I'm in Florida. If I'm wrong, I treat you to dinner at the Maisonette when you come to visit Cincinnati.

If you take this bet, remember my access to a time machine. I WILL be able to collect on a ride to a restaurant in Florida.

Oddly enough, many though it was Jeb who would be the Bush that went to the White House.
